080105 AT THE FAVERSHAM, LEEDS

It was Sam's birthday, his 25th. I gave him, inside a Free Tibet birthday card, a packet of minty pea soup from Shropshire and reminded him that a few days earlier he had allegedly consumed a not 100% dissimilar drink.

He grimaced and grinned.

I said he looked much younger with his new haircut.

He smirked, gave me the finger and spun out into the early crowd.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Although at the time very nearly every Things' gig I've ever been to seems to be the best one yet, this one undoubtedly was and I've never seen a venue so packed out, nor seen so many of the audience up on the stage at the end of the Things', I'm sure, longest ever performance, (very nearly an hour), which just made it better still.
