10,000 THINGS, 271104, JOSEPH'S WELL, LEEDS

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Photographs by Neil Gunn, web weaver in residence.

These are not clever photographs, but if we're lucky Linda Chasteau will send me some really good ones from the same gig? And 051204, here they are!

Linda told me what sort of film to use, but for some silly reason I only took with me the big lens (80-320), which perhaps gives me one last excuse onto which to cling most desperately.

And then there's the automatic light meter I can blame too.......?

Ah, well, there's hope.

The Things came on 4th, after a good local band called Farewell Party, another band I didn't watch and Raising Kain who were excellent. [Dogs were headlining, but I didn't see them].

Highpoints of the Things' set? Everything was a highpoint, though the chant for Davro was a good laugh and halfway through the set they did Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick which was monstrous fine and it's ages since I've heard them do any covers.

Best thing for me was I'd bought some expensive-ish earplugs and was right up the front and could hear absolutely everything.

Anyway, this time there are proportionately loads more photographs of Will Newman for Andrea, (who's old enough to know better, but never mind), and loads more of Davro for QSB.

Viewed from the back of the "hall", soundcheck time: Davro, George, Sam, Action and Will.

Kev from Farewell Party, first of the support bands. (Kev's here because we like Kev, no other reason...., Well, apart, from the very good reason that it's my web site and I can do what I like with it!).

Raising Kain (Scottish).

Stobb (Scottish) watching Raising Kain.

I'd seen Raising Kain supporting the Things at The Fenton, Leeds on 291004 and they are really a very good and entertaining band.
