We were on our way to the 6762ft plateau of the Kleine Scheidegg. (Slimy Fried egg? Nein, Kleine Scheidegg).

Well, perhaps it was time to pause and reflect..........? And to the left is one mad photograph: Jo all jumbled up with the reflected images of the other passengers. I know, I know, it's a bloody awful photograph of Jo, (and why she appears to have acquired the nose of a lifelong alcoholic, I cannot begin to understand), but I do still very much like the way it all turned out.

Were you wondering how trains climb steep mountains? The wheels don't do much work on the steep sections - the engine hauls itself up on those teeth in the middle.

Not only is the train electric, but it's powered by the company's own hydro-electric scheme!

Above: A view from the train just after leaving Wengen station.

Look at those spiky peaks. And they weren't even the big ones!

The Mönch, (Monk) photographed from the train. Just look at those glaciers!

And stand by for an absolute orgy of big mountain photographs!
