It reminds me of one of Frank Patterson's
marvellous pen and ink sketches, The Watcher(?).

Just starting to "open" (is, I think, the
nautical term), the bay / inlet at
Howtown.

Fusedale (meaning the valley with a cattle byre (O.N. fé-hús + O.N. dalr)). I've never been there, but I want to now.
Ullswater was undoubtedly formed by a glacier, but I wonder which
way it flowed when / if it reached Penrith.
Turning across the wind.
Mulled wine at Howtown pier.

We
were warned not to sit too close to the stern just before we tore away north again from Howtown.............
Passing Watermillock (what a pillock?), towards Pooley Bridge.
Swarthbeck (I think).
(Thass your holiday cottage, tha' is). Snow (on Striding Edge?).

Northeast
Southwest
Not
enough mulled wine?
